DC Comics’ legendary “Answer Man” comes to Uticon!
Bob Rozakis’ work in comics began in 1974 with The Amazing World of DC Comics and quickly became known DC's Answer Man, answering trivia questions from readers in the Daily Planet promotional page in many late-1970s comics. His credits during his 25-year career with DC total "almost four hundred stories" featuring most DC characters, "plus dozens of features, puzzles, and activities pages". He has been a writer, editor, assistant editor, and head of DC’s Production Department, where Rozakis helped revolutionize the way comics were printed and embraced growing computer technology. In 1973, he and his wife drove the DC Comicmobile, a van which drove around and sold comics much like an ice cream truck. Among the plethora of DC Comics his pen has graced are Action Comics, Batman Family, The Flash, Detective Comics, Superman, and Teen Titans, creating characters that include the Calculator, Bumblebee, The Joker's Daughter, and ‘Mazing Man. Rozakis has also co-authored The Complete Idiots Guide to Office Politics with his wife, Dr. Laurie E. Rozakis. Rozakis will give a Lecture titled: "Graphic Novels: Past, Present, and Futures" at MVCC in Utica Friday September 30 at 2 p.m.

TODD DEZAGO
Todd is a comic book writer best known for his work on The Sensational Spider-Man for Marvel Comics, The Flash spin-off series Impulse, as well as being the co-creator of the DC Comics super-team Young Justice.
His professional comics writing career began with X-Factor in 1994, and young fans of late may know Todd’s work from Marvel’s Super Hero Squad, featuring the Avengers and X-Men characters in more self-aware, cartoon-style situations. He is also the creator of the fantasy series Tellos with penciller Mike Wieringo - a coming-of-age adventure set in a magical, piratical world. Together with artist Craig Rousseau, Todd co-created the supernatural investigator series The Perhapanauts from Image Comics, with a brand new, original graphic novel The Perhapanauts: Into Hollow Earth slated for release in the coming year. |

STEVE GEIGERFor the past Twenty years Steve Geiger has served as a professional artist in the advertising and comic book fields. After graduating from Buffalo State University, he began his career as an apprentice to the legendary comic book artist John Romita Sr. He was soon hired on staff, and eventually was named Managing Art Director for The Marvel Entertainment Group.
Throughout his career he has served as a regular artist on such comics as Spider-man, The Incredible Hulk , Bloodshot, Scion, Lorelei, and Samuree. Steve has also illustrated many covers and single issues for such titles as The X-men, Punisher: War Journal, The Fantastic Four, Batman, and countless others. He is now launching his own enterprise, The Evilgeiger Empire, an entertainment development company devoted to the creation, implementation, and production of original content and creator-owned concepts and characters. Current projects include: The Henchman with Devin Hylton, Gabriel Damascus; Cutter, and Plowboy in the Cornmeal Universe with Hollywood Animation. Steve lives in Williamsville, NY with his wife Kristy and their son, Steven III. |

TOM PEYER
If there’s a character that exists in the 75+ year history of DC Comics, chances are Tom Peyer has chronicled their adventures at some point, including Superman, The Atom, Batman, The Flash, Hourman, The Justice Society, The Legion of Superheroes and many, many more.
You’ve also seen Tom’s writing come to life if you’ve seen the animated Doom Patrol as part of Cartoon Network’s DC Nation series. For Marvel Comics, he has written the Amazing Spider-Man, House of M, The Punisher. Marvel Team-Up and several Marvel Apes specials, just to name a few. He also pays frequent visits to the Town of Springfield to pen the lives of The Simpsons for Bongo Comics. His newest series, Captain Kid, with co-writer Mark Waid and artist Wilfredo Torres, about a middle-aged man who can transform into a teenage superhero, hit shelves from Aftershock Comics this summer. An editor at DC Comics/Vertigo from 1987 to 1993, he served as assistant editor on Neil Gaiman’s groundbreaking Sandman and with John Layman wrote the 2007-2009 Tek Jansen comic book, based on the Stephen Colbert character. He is also the author of several books that include Sideshow: Cartoons from the Syracuse New Times and Ronald Reagan’s Contradictionary of the American Language. |

CRAIG ROUSSEAU
Throughout his career, artist Craig Rousseau has worked for a number of comic book companies, but is best known for his work on DC Comics titles such as Harley Quinn, Batman Beyond, and the Flash spin-off series, Impulse.
Craig’s work for DC Comics has also included illustrating stints on such well-known titles as Batman ‘66 (based on the 1960s Adam West television series), Gotham Adventures (based on the classic Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond animated series), Catwoman, and various Secret Files specials that include Green Lantern, The Flash, Young Justice and No Man’s Land. He has also worked on Kim Possible for Disney Adventures, as well as Marvel Comics, providing art for titles such as Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane. Iron Man and the Armor Wars, Captain America and the Korvac Saga, and Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. At Image Comics, Craig worked with writer Todd Dezago on the fantasy series Tellos, and the two later co-created the supernatural investigator series The Perhapanauts for Dark Horse Comics and Image Comics. Craig and Todd are back at it again with a brand new, original graphic novel The Perhapanauts: Into Hollow Earth. |

Ryan Browne is a NY-based artist whose work includes Back to the Future and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) and Bebop and Rocksteady Destroy Everything for IDW Publishing, Thor and Secret Wars, Too for Marvel, and is the artist and creator of the series God Hates Astronauts from Image.
He recently worked on trading card series for IDW publishing's TMNT and Garbage Pail Kids cards and was the lead illustrator on the turn-based card game "TRAP," Recently branching out into zombie related artwork and merchandise Ryan started a company called Zombiepetz, which specializes in turning some of your favorite comic and TV characters into zombies, He says a children's book and animated series along with a small line of limited edition vinyl toys is on it's way in the near future. Rich Perrotta started his career in 1994 with MARVEL inking the titles Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Thunderbolts, X-men and New Mutants to name a few and DC COMICS in 2011 on Booster Gold and The Ray.

Doug is currently at work on his first full-length graphic novel entitled, No Water In Hell, with part one due out in 2017. His latest project, We All Travel Time, collects five distinct comic book short stories created by both Rick and Doug Arthur, each riffing on the concept of time. |

ANDREW CIESLINSKI
Andrew is the co-creator and regular illustrator for the comic series Holidaze about the after-hours lives of mythical icons when they’re off the clock and at their favorite watering hole.
He has also provided artwork for Ink Puddle Press' The Devil and Mr. Gandhi as well as character designs for Mad Angel Films. Andrew's artwork has also been seen on posters for the Albany All-Stars Roller Derby and the Syracuse Crunch hockey. |
DAVE DELLECESE
Dave has written for newspapers, magazines, comic books, television news, and academic institutions. He has appeared on The Today Show, The Weather Channel, and was recognized by the NYS Associated Press for his interview skills as a news anchor and reporter.
He is the co-creator and writer of Holidaze, about the risque after-hours lives of holiday characters. He has also written stories featuring mismatched roommates, The Devil and Mr. Gandhi from Ink Puddle Press and is author of the novel One Missed Train. His experience blogging as The Dorky Daddy has made him a frequent guest on New England’s Mass Appeal morning lifestyle program. |
MATT KEENAN
Born and raised in upstate New York, Matt Keenan has a background in animation, graphic design, 3D modeling, photography, and illustration.
His paintings all start with traditional pencil and paper, are scanned into the computer and painted using Photoshop, a process that can take between 15 to more than 60 hours. A freelance artist, Matt has been providing covers for Printed Deals magazine since 2012. |
KYLE LINCE
Kyle Lince's first novel Magyra, has been called "a sophisticated blend of science fiction, precise character development, and masterful plot construction."
He has currently finished his second novel, The Prodigal Outlaw, and is busy completing his third novel titled: Jack Zero and the Missing Man. Also an Associate Professor of Web Development and Information Design in Upstate New York, he fills his time reading, writing, and hanging out with his kids. He enjoys genre entertainment, reads comic books, and loves watching cartoons. |
MATT MAGILL
Matt Magill has been creating comics his entire life and, after a few art gigs for independent publishers for titles like Shore Losers and Anthology of Uninterest, Matt started his own webcomic Eat @ Shrimpy's, following the life and times of a group of anthropomorphic friends opening a restaurant together.
Recently, he created Oh Jeez! Comics to bring his multiple webcomic ventures under one umbrella, including Luthor the Laziest Viking, a current events-heavy strip revolving around the world's laziest viking and his incredibly tolerant wife, and the family-friendly hit Masters of the Treehouse which follows the kids of Eternia, NY in their daily adventures full of 80's cartoon easter eggs. |
JOE MARTINO
Joe is co-founder and partner of Red Anvil Comics. Creating comics since he was 10, his big "break" came when he decided to do everything (mostly) on his own and publish Shadowflame back in 1996.
Since then, he's been published by Arcana with Shadowflame and Ripperman, Main Enterprises, Coscom Entertainment and a slew of other independent publishers. Joe has also had two very successful Kickstarter campaigns that have enabled him to publish his cancer biopic "The Mighty Titan" without taking food from his kids' mouths. |
PATRICK MCCUEN
"Ink Puddle" Pat McCuen is the writer and illustrator of the ongoing comic series The Devil & Mr. Gandhi as well as several other half-baked, underdeveloped comic series for both web and print. He has had political cartoons published in newspapers and has designed book covers for authors, all while holding down his day job as an antiquarian bookseller in the city of Philadelphia.

SEAN MILLS
Sean Ian Mills is a local writer from Rome, NY who will be debuting his signature series, Gamer Girl & Vixen, at this year's Uticon. It tells the love story of two super-criminals who meet on the rooftops of New York and use their powers to rob celebrities. A successful Kickstarter campaign this past Spring will help Sean release a full graphic novel early next year.

Michael Peckham is a local, Utica artist. He attended Holland Patent High school and received his degree in Illustration from MVCC.
In March of 2016 he launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his three issue comic book series Ouroboros: A Journey Through Memory and Time. The success of the project provided an excellent starting point for his career as a sequential artist. His current weekly title Beast Hunter can be found online and in local businesses in the Utica area. |
