"I'm proud to be a cancer survivor, and I know that it helps people to see that other people can and do get to the other side of this thing," says cartoonist, writer and game designer Michael T. Desing.
Publishing for more than 20 years, Desing’s work includes the comic book series and role-playing game Army Ants and the Saga of the Splintered Realm role-playing game. He has recently released Sentinels of Echo City, a superhero role-playing game with old school sensibilities. STEVE ORLANDO
Steve currently writes the series Midnighter for DC Comics , the first comic headlined by a gay male superhero in the DC Universe.
He is also writer of Batman and Robin Eternal for DC, and the sci-fi graphic novel Undertow for Image Comics. He has contributed to several anthologies published by DC Comics imprint Vertigo as well as created the original graphic novel Virgil, the story of a Jamaica-based cop who is outed by his peers and goes on a long, bloody road of revenge. Owner of Luchadore Enterprises, Al Dorantes is the author behind numerous children's books, including The Adventures of Black An' Gus series, about two Black Angus bulls that seem to get into trouble more often then they stay out of it.

Kyle Lance's first novel Magyra, has been called "a sophisticated blend of science fiction, precise character development, and masterful plot construction."
He has currently finished his second novel, an untitled western, and is busy completing his third novel titled: Jack Zero and the Missing Man. Also an Associate Professor of Web Development and Information Design in Upstate New York, he fills his time reading, writing, and hanging out with his kids. He enjoys genre entertainment, reads comic books, and loves watching cartoons. |
JOE MARTINO
Joe is co-founder and partner of Red Anvil Comics. Creating comics since he was 10, his
big "break" came when he decided to do everything (mostly) on his own
and publish Shadowflame back in 1996.
Since then, he's been published by Arcana with Shadowflame and Ripperman, Main Enterprises, Coscom Entertainment and a slew of other independent publishers. Joe has also had two very successful Kickstarter campaigns that have enabled him to publish his cancer biopic "The Mighty Titan" without taking food from his kids' mouths. JOE ORSAK
A cartoonist for over 40 years, Joe is the creator of Captain Cuse, the adventures of a Syracuse-based superhero, which appeared in the pages of the Syracuse New Times in the 1980s.
Joe has developed several graphic novels for McFarland publishing, including The Yellow Rose of Texas: The Myth of Emily Morgan. His work has also been seen in sports biographical comics for Magnum Comics (Duke Snider, Brooks Robinson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Frank Robinson) and in logos around central, NY including the Syracuse Crunch logo.
